Qonggyai ( Tibetan : འཕྱོངས་ རྒྱས་ རྫོང , transcription after Wylie : 'phyongs rgyas rdzong; also Chonggye Dzong ) is a district in the Shannan administrative district in the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China . It has an area of ​​1,030 square kilometers and according to the 1990 census 15,636 inhabitants, of which 15,544 Tibetans and 80 Han Chinese. (2000 census: 17,031 inhabitants.)

In Qonggyai, next to the Chenye monastery, there are the tombs of Tibetan kings .
