The Boy from Oz is the title of several works based on the life of Peter Allen . The musical The Boy from Oz was on 5 March 1998 Sydney in His Majesty's Theater premiered and celebrated on Broadway on 16 October 2003 with Hugh Jackman in the lead role premiere .

A television documentary about his life called The Boy from Oz was broadcast in 1995, and Stephen MacLean 's biography of the same name appeared two years later . The musical of the same name was performed 364 times on Broadway until September 12, 2004. Key to this success was, among other things, the performance of Jackman, which delighted critics and audiences alike. He received u. a. the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical .
