Murray Bartlett (born March 20, 1971 in Sydney , New South Wales ) is an Australian actor .

Life

The in Sydney -born Murray Bartlett joined the Australia National Institute of Dramatic Art in 1991 with a degree in performing arts from. Before Bartlett became known as an actor in the United States , he worked on numerous projects in his native Australia. He appeared in the series The Flying Doctors , Home and Away , A Country Practice and Neighbors . In 1999 he had his first role in an American television series. As Douglas "DK" Knox , he was seen between 1999 and 2003 in a total of four episodes of the series Farscape . 2002 he played in an episode of the HBO series Sex and the City the Oliver Spencer , a good friend of the main character Carrie Bradshaw , played by Sarah Jessica Parker . This role gave him his breakthrough as an actor in the USA. He was also a guest in 2002 for several episodes on McLeod's Daughters and All My Children, as well as on the Australian series The Secret Life of Us . In 2006 Murray Bartlett was alongside Hugh Jackman in the musical The Boy from Oz on the 2006 Australian tour .

Between 2007 and 2009, he played the role of Cyrus Foley in the long-running soap opera Springfield Story for over 250 episodes . In 2009 and 2011 there was an appearance in the television series White Collar and Damages - Im Netz der Macht . From January 2014 to March 2015, Murray Bartlett was part of the main cast on the HBO series Looking , which covers the life of a gay trio. The other leading roles are played by Jonathan Groff and Frankie J. Alvarez .
