The Colosseum (English for The Coliseum ) is a steep-walled, with moraine rubble piled mountain basin in the southern East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Darwin Mountains of the Transantarctic Mountains, it lies on the east side of the Colosseum Ridge .
It got its name because it and the four other mountain basins of the Colosseum Ridge are reminiscent of the Colosseum in Rome .
