The Donna Jean Band was a short-lived American band formed by Donna Godchaux and her second husband David MacKay.

After Godchaux appeared again musically with a solo album after a long time in 1996, shortly afterwards she and her husband David MacKay founded their first band after Heart of Gold Band in the 1980s. The band lasted until 2000 and was primarily a touring band with various guest musicians.

As a band, the band recorded an album called "Donna Jean" in 1998 at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio . This was Donna Godchaux's first album as a band leader.

The single "Mercy" from this album was also recorded in 1999 for the compilation album "Third Annual Gathering on the Mountain" at the third annual festival at the "Big Boulder Ski Area and Jack Frost Mountain" in the Pocono Mountains.

Both Godchaux 'children from his first marriage and MacKay's son sometimes played in the band, but did not take part in the album. When "Heart of Gold Band" was revived in 2004, the sons were already part of the regular cast.
