The Dwarves

The Dwarves is an American punk band that formed in Chicago in the late 1980s under the name The Suburban Nightmare . The core members are the singer Blag Dahlia (Paul Cafaro) and the guitarist HeWhoCannotBeNamed .

The band is characterized by a provocative appearance (for example, the wearing of S / M insignia), provocative album covers (the album The Dwarves Must Die, for example, adorns a crucified dwarf) and provocative demeanor. After they published a press release that their guitarist had been stabbed in Philadelphia, which turned out to be a hoax, they were delisted from their Sub Pop label. They received public attention in particular when Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age singer Blag Dahlia, with whom he was previously friends, pulled a beer bottle over the head. The occasion is said to have been the Dwarves song Massacre , which says “This one goes out to Queens of the Trustfund / You slept on my floor and now I'm sleeping through your motherfucking records.” The former Queens is also on this song -Bassist Nick Oliveri involved, who was part of the Dwarves line-up after leaving Queens of the Stone Age. The Dwarves justify the brevity of their pieces with the fact that they play the pieces at a higher tempo.
