The Eulenspiegel Society

The Eulenspiegel Society (TES) is a BDSM organization founded in 1971 in New York City , USA , which, in addition to its political objectives, the support of increasing sexual freedom and the acceptance of sexual minorities, also offers self-help offers, does educational work and does not provide BDSM to others -performs related activities. Her name is based on the medieval German folk figure Till Eulenspiegel .

TES was the first association founded in America under whose roof both heterosexual and homosexual sadomasochists organized. A few years later, the Society of Janus, founded in San Francisco in 1974, followed suit . In its founding city, New York City, where TES is headquartered, TES is the oldest and largest grouping of sex-political activists, and there are other branches in various cities across the country.
