The Good Natured (born January 26, 1991) is the pseudonym of the British electro pop singer and music producer Sarah McIntosh from Highclere , Hampshire in Great Britain .

life and work

Sarah McIntosh started playing the violin as a child, but didn't like it and switched to drums. She also sang in a choir as a child. At the age of 14, she helped her grandmother during spring cleaning and discovered an old Yamaha - Keyboard of 1980. They taught himself to play, began writing her first songs at the age of 15 years and formed a band with her brother Hamish . She later went to university to study music, but found that she could not cope with her studies and her private music engagement at the same time. So she decided to leave the university and devote herself entirely to her own music.

Published in 2008 Sarah McIntosh in self-published under the name of The Good Natured the EP Warriors , who along with her brother Hamish McIntosh (bass) and drummer George Hinton had taken, she knew even from the university. For this release, she earned some recognition from the specialist press, especially for her lyrics, which deal with sexuality, substance abuse, love and longing. Their music is often compared to that of La Roux , Ladytron , Lily Allen, and Kate Nash . She herself describes her music as "dark electro-pop" as well as "electro-pop with a heart" and feels particularly influenced by bands like Japan and Siouxsie and the Banshees .

Despite the positive reviews, there was initially no record label that wanted to sign The Good Natured , so her second EP Your Body Is a Machine was released by herself. She has only been under contract with the British record label Parlophone since March 2011 and released the EP Skeleton in September 2011 .

In autumn 2011, the song Skeleton was used in a Deichmann commercial for their Graceland shoe brand .

On July 25, 2013, The Good Natured announced on their official Facebook page that their label had already terminated them a few months earlier. As a result, the planned album Prism will no longer be released. According to their own statements, the band tried to get back the rights to the songs they had already recorded from the label, but without success. On January 2nd, 2014 the band will make their comeback under the name Lovestarrs.
