Michael Weston King
Michael Weston King (* 1961 in Derby ) is an English singer and songwriter. From 1994 to 2001 he was the head of the alternative country band The Good Sons and is now active as a solo musician.
King grew up in Southport near Liverpool . After a short study attempt in Manchester, he returns to his hometown and forms the band Fragile Friends . After some recordings that were not very successful, the band broke up. King, who was interested in new wave bands and later the music of Elvis Costello , became more and more enthusiastic about American bands that combined country and rock, from REM to Dwight Yoakam . Under this impression he founded the Good Sons - named after an album by Nick Cave , with which he was able to record a certain commercial success. Since 1999 he has also been on the road as a solo artist.
King worked with Jackie Leven , Townes Van Zandt and Chris Hillman , among others .
