The Great Wide Open

The Great Wide Open was an open air festival that has taken place twice so far. The first concert took place on June 13, 2009 on the harness racing track in Mühldorf am Inn in front of over 11,000 spectators.

The following musicians and bands performed at the music festival : Claus Freudenstein's Bass Monsters, Aviv Geffen , Dolcenera , The Hooters , Roger Hodgson , Status Quo and Deep Purple .

The re-edition planned for 2010 had to be withdrawn due to the cancellation of Joe Cocker . According to the organizer Heinz Preisch, the festival should take place again in 2011. In 2011 and in the following years, there was no re-edition.

In 2015 the second "The Great Wide Open" took place in Mühldorf. The main act was Unholy . They played in front of 8,500 spectators.

The festival should not be confused with the music and culture festival Into The Great Wide Open , which has been taking place on the Dutch island of Vlieland on the first weekend in September since 2009 .
