Wieland Elfferding

Wieland Elfferding (* 1950 ) is a German author, journalist and teacher who lives in Berlin .

Life

After graduating from the Max Slevogt Gymnasium in Landau in der Pfalz , Elfferding studied philosophy , political science and Russian philology at the Free University in Berlin . He completed his studies there with a diploma thesis on “The inclusion of the working people in the planning and management of socialist industrial operations since the economic reforms of 1965 in the USSR” (1975). He then took up teaching positions at the Free University of Berlin and the University of Innsbruck , where he B. lectured in the winter semester 1995/96 on "Analyzes of the change in social meaning through television". He wrote and edited numerous books on socio-political and cultural-philosophical problems. Today he publishes regularly in weekly newspapers like Friday .

Elfferding, who in the 1980s was particularly concerned with topics related to the theory of Marxism , later analyzed the aesthetics of National Socialism and dealt with ecological issues and natural clichés. Among other things, he critically examined Helmut Kohl's appearance in the media. In 1986, Elfferding, together with Helmut Dubiel and Hilde Schramm, played a key role in the debate about the law on the Berlin Academy of Sciences .

Wieland Elfferding also translated the writings of the British sociologist Stuart Hall into German as part of the edition of his collected works .

He is currently working at the Friedensburg-Oberschule in Berlin as a teacher and at the same time as an upper school coordinator .
