Anton Holzer

Anton Holzer (* 1964 in Innichen in South Tyrol ) is editor, publicist, exhibition curator and scientist for the history of photography .

life and work

Anton Holzer studied history , political science and philosophy at the Universities of Innsbruck , Bologna and Vienna . In 2005 he received his doctorate with a dissertation on war photography in the First World War , submitted in Vienna .

Holzer is a photo historian, publicist and exhibition curator in Vienna. Since 2001 he has published the magazine “ Photo History - Contributions to the History and Aesthetics of Photography”. Since 1994 he has been concerned with the history of photography and researches and publishes on photo-historical and cultural-historical topics. Holzer has teaching assignments in the history of photography at the universities of Krems , Vienna and Lucerne and regularly writes articles for catalogs and publications as well as for the features section: FAZ , NZZ , Tages-Anzeiger , Die Presse and Wiener Zeitung .
