The Landmark is a skyscraper in Abu Dhabi , the capital of the UAE .

The building was designed by the well-known architect César Pelli . Construction began in 2006 and was completed in 2013. In September 2010 the final height was reached 324 meters (the same height as the Eiffel Tower ) whereby the building replaced the Sky Tower as the tallest structure in the city. After completion, it was the tallest residential building in the world for a few months, as it exceeded the Q1 Tower in the Australian Gold Coast by one meter, but was in turn replaced in this category by The Torch in Dubai . In spring 2012, the title of the tallest building in the city had to be given up again to The Domain on the Central Market (381 meters), which is 57 meters higher . The Landmark has 72 floors. There are another five floors underground, which in addition to a parking garage also accommodate shops. There is also a restaurant in the building itself.
