The Mad Gear and Missile Kid is an EP by the American rock band My Chemical Romance , released under their alter ego The Mad Gear and Missile Kid . The EP is included in the special edition of the album Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys . The Mad Gear and Missile Kid is the band's only release with Michael Pedicone as the drummer. The EP can be assigned to punk rock , but influences from protopunk and especially hardcore punk cannot be ignored.

Guitarist Frank Iero told MTV that the music on the EP is the music the Killjoys from Danger Days hear during their car shootouts. In an interview with Alternative Press , singer Gerard Way expressed a desire to record an entire Mad Gear and Missile Kid album.

Cover

The cover shows a dead Pegasus , as he can often be seen in the videos for Danger Days and is particularly featured on Gerard Way's jacket.

criticism

The Mad Gear and Missile Kid received consistently positive reviews from critics. The punk mood and the sound were particularly emphasized. AbsolutePunk's Ian Walker gave the EP a positive review, speaking of a quick injection of musical tempo that gets the blood flowing faster. Walker went on to write that My Chemical Romance shows that music has to be fun first and foremost, and he can literally see the band as having fun recording the EP. This mood runs through the entire plant.
