Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys is the fourth studio album by the American alternative rock band My Chemical Romance . The album was produced by Rob Cavallo and released by Warner Music and Reprise Records on November 19, 2010. In the US , the album was only released on November 22, 2010 by Reprise Records.

Content / concept

The concept album is about the life of the Fabulous Killjoys , a group of outlaws who fight against the evil company Better Living Industries (BL / ind.) In a post-apocalyptic California in 2019 . The four members of the band appear personally as the four "Killjoys": "Party Poison" ( Gerard Way ), "Jet Star" (Ray Toro), "Fun Ghoul" (Frank Iero), and "Kobra Kid" (Mikey Way), which can also be seen in the music videos of the two single releases Na Na Na and Sing . You will be directed by a radio DJ named Dr. Death Defying, who appeared in songs like Look Alive, Sunshine and Goodnite, Dr. Death makes an appearance.

The two music videos show the four Fabulous Killjoys Dr. Death Defying, his helper "Show Pony" and a girl who is simply called "Little Girl" or "The Girl". In Na Na Na you can see the daily life of the Killjoys until it by a minion of the Better Living Industries called Corsican ( Grant Morrison defeated), who then kidnapped the girl. In Sing , the Killjoys save the girl, but all die in a shootout with the "Draculoids" (the agents / soldiers from BL / ind with vampire-like masks, so to speak). The girl escapes anyway and then flees with Dr. Death Defying and other allies.

Versions

In addition to the standard CD edition, the band also offered the California 2019 Edition exclusively through their in-house online shop. The edition features the standard CD version of the album as well as an exclusive EP, The Mad Gear and Missile Kid , a 48-page book called Art is the Weapon , a wooden bracelet, a replica of one of the four weapons that the Own killjoys and a matching mask. An iTunes Deluxe version with the song We Don't Need Another Song About California and the music video for Na Na Na was also released.
