The Misunderstood were an American psychedelic rock band from Riverside (California) that existed from 1963 to 1969. Although they only released a few singles during their playing days, they are considered one of the most innovative bands of their time.

history

The band began in 1963 as one of many garage bands that emerged in the United States as a result of the British Invasion . In 1966 they moved to London at the suggestion of John Peel .

The Misunderstood were influenced by the Yardbirds , to whom they are often compared. They recorded only a few songs, some of which were released as singles. Her music has received critical acclaim.

In 1967 singer Rick Brown had to return to the States to begin his military service. The rest of the band, with several line-up changes, continued to try their hand at London, but broke up in 1969.

Guitarist Glenn Campbell formed the band Juicy Lucy in 1969 . Second guitarist Tony Hill went to High Tide . The recordings of The Misunderstood were released again from the 1980s.
