The Potbelleez is a four-piece Australian-Irish electro-pop band. In 2004 the two emigrated Dubliners Dave Goode and Johnny Sonic met in Sydney and played as a DJ duo in the clubs of the Australian metropolis. In 2005 and 2006 respectively, the two Australian singers Blue MC and Ilan Kidron joined the Potbelleez and they made their first recordings, which they published on the Internet.

Career

They got a record deal and released their first EP ( In the Junkyard ) in spring 2007 . Her songs have been played on Australian television shows such as Australia's Next Top Model and Big Brother and her notoriety rose beyond the dance scene. With the following song Don't Hold Back came the great success. After entering the Australian charts in October, the single rose to the top 10 by the end of the year. At the New Year's Eve party at Sydney Harbor Bridge and at the final of the Australian Football Championship, they appeared with the song on television and in February they reached ranked 5th as the highest chart placement and were awarded platinum .

This was followed immediately by the move to Europe. In Germany they were on tour with the band Scooter for two months as support . In England they were included in the BBC's program. They promptly hit the charts in both of these countries.

In 2008 the band released their first studio album, The Potbelleez . They released their second album in 2011. This album is called Destination Now . In 2014 front woman Marisa Lock took part in The Voice of Germany under her stage name Blue MC .
