The Retrosic is a German electrical project founded by Cyrus in 2001 . The project soon developed from a solo project to a real band. The regular line-up of four members is occasionally supplemented with the soprano Zaide . In addition to a compilation, the band's own label Tribune Records also released an album each by God's Bow and the rock band Manzana . In the review of the latest album Nightcrawler , laut.de writes : "Within just a few years, The Retrosic have managed to take their place at the top of the German electro movement almost entirely on their own."

Career

After the founding, the first album Prophecy was released in April 2001 on the Tribune Records label founded for this purpose . The EP Messa da Requiem followed a year later , from which the single Ground Zero was released. Messa da Requiem reached number 4 in the German Alternative Charts and thus found itself at number 43 on the DAC's 2002 best list. In 2004, the second album was released God of Hell in sales of Soulfood Music , the 2nd place achieved in the Jahresbestliste, the eponymous single was even the No. 3 Yearendcharts 2004. At the same time could be Tribune Records place in the Labelbestlisten the DAC.

At the end of 2006, the group's third album, Nightcrawler, was released. The single of the same name reached number 3 on the DAC, the album number 5. The album was named "Album of the Month" in the soundchecks of the major German scene magazines Zillo , Sonic Seducer and Orkus . In May 2007 The Retrosic played the first live concert in the band's history. The event took place as the midnight opening concert of the Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig in front of 7,000 spectators. A recording of this concert should be published on DVD, but has not yet been released.

Others

  • Even in the USA the band achieved popularity with the help of the electro label Metropolis (there are exclusive album versions).
  • A music video was created for the song The Storm , which was nominated by Microsoft for Video of the Year and which earned the band an invitation to the final in Brazil.
  • The music video for Desperate Youth from the Nightcrawler album received the Silver Artist at the International HD Film Festival 2006 in Munich.
