Constantia Packaging AG is a listed packaging manufacturer based in Vienna . Constantia Packaging is listed on the Prime Market of the Vienna Stock Exchange. Constantia Packaging (CPAG) is divided into three segments: Aluminum: Austria Metall AG ( AMAG ), Corrugated Board : Constantia Duropack and Flexible Packaging: Constantia Flexibles . Duropack has held 62% of the Croatian Belišće dd since June 2010

Around 7,800 people are employed at 49 locations in 19 countries in Europe, Asia and America and produce, among other things, primary aluminum, aluminum semi-finished products, paper and corrugated cardboard for the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, automotive, aviation and other industries.

In the 2009 financial year, the company achieved around a third in Austria, based on 1,704.2 million euros and an operating result of 160.7 million euros.

After delisting in October 2010, the listed Constantia Packaging AG was merged with Sulipo Beteiligungs GmbH as the absorbing company (= acquisition vehicle OEP) effective June 30, 2010. At the same time, Sulipo was renamed Constantia Packaging GmbH and in April 2012 then Constantia Flexibles Group GmbH.

Group structure

The principle of the decentralized organizational structure has been an essential principle since Constantia Packaging AG was founded. Operational functions are decentralized and finance is managed centrally. She takes on controlling functions, personnel development, portfolio management, financing, legal and auditing and communication tasks. The company is divided into the following segments, which in turn have shares in other companies:

  • Aluminum: AMAG (90% CPAG; 10% AMAG Employee Foundation) - primary aluminum, cast products, rolled products
  • Corrugated cardboard: Constantia Duropack AG (100% subsidiary) - paper and corrugated cardboard
  • Flexible packaging: Constantia Flexibles (100% subsidiary) - with the three divisions

Since October 12, 2009, the company has been 65.79 percent owned by the American investment company One Equity Partners (OEP), which Constantia Packaging BV (CP-BV) based in Vaassen in the Netherlands holds a further 25 percent. The remaining shares are in free float . Constantia Packaging BV is owned by the Herbert Turnauers Industrial Foundation based in Liechtenstein .

In February 2015, Duropack was sold to the British packaging group DS Smith for around 300 million euros . DS Smith took over both the 75 percent from OEP and the 25 percent from the ownership of the Turnauer / Castelbajac family.
