Constantia Flexibles is a group of companies whose roots lie in Constantia Teich and Haendler & Natermann .

Constantia pond

In 1912, the brothers Richard and Ernest Teich founded the Teich OHG company in Weinburg, Austria, and started rolling tin and lead foils with four employees. In 1927 the first aluminum strip rolling stands were erected; 1952/53 flexographic printing was added to the production program; 1962 the gravure printing process .

Constantia Pirk GmbH & Co. KG

The company was founded in 1920 by Oskar Eduard Hueck and was then still called Aluminum Foil Rolling Mill Hueck & Cie. Between 1921 and 1929 it refined foils, for example by painting , single-color printing, embossing, wax and glue lamination. These were then delivered to dairies in the region, the chocolate industry and other food manufacturers. In 2007 the aluminum foil rolling mill Hueck & Cie. to Constantia Flexibles. In 2011 a 12-color gravure printing machine with inline lamination was put into operation, followed by a color gravure printing machine in 2012.

Haendler & Natermann

Haendler & Natermann was founded as a forwarding company in Hann. Münden , Germany founded. In 1840 the industrial production of lead sheet and lead foil took place z. B. for tea boxes or snuff boxes .

Products

The company produces flexible packaging in the form of thin and flexible plastic films, aluminum foils and paper. These are used alone or in combination in direct and non-direct primary and secondary packaging for food and non-food products, in retail , in industrial applications and in healthcare .

Corporate structure

The management of Constantia Flexibles consists of the management board and the extended management board. The Executive Board includes the Chief Executive Officer Alexander Baumgartner and the Chief Financial Officer Stephan Kühne.

Funds advised by One Equity Partners (OEP) and the H. Turnauer Foundation have reached an agreement with the Wendel Group to sell their 100% stake in Constantia Flexibles. In 2014, the Wendel offering valued Constantia Flexibles at around 2.3 billion euros (enterprise value). The Wendel Group now holds 61 percent of the shares, the Maxburg Capital Group 11 percent and the Turnauer Foundation 27 percent

In 2017, the subsidiary Constantia Labels , a manufacturer of plastic labels for bottles, among other things, with a turnover of 605 million euros (2016), employs around 2,800 people in 23 plants worldwide and is represented in 14 countries, was offered for 1.15 billion dollars sold to US competitor Multi-Color Corporation (MCC). Constantia Flexibles will receive part of the purchase price in cash and the remainder in the form of a 16.6% share, making it the largest MCC shareholder. In addition, Constantia Flexibles will have two seats on the Board of Directors of MCC.

Locations

The company headquarters of Constantia Flexibles is located in Vienna in the Rivergate building and employs around 180 people. Constantia Teich GmbH, based in Weinburg, is one of the largest production facilities of Constantia Flexibles with around 900 employees.
