The The Royal Foundation ( dt. The Royal Foundation ) is a foundation in September 2009 by Prince William and Prince Harry under the name of The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry (dt. The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry ) to support by charities . After Williams and Catherine Middleton married Catherine Middleton , she was also renamed the founder and the foundation in its current name in July 2012.
Charity work of the princes
The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry are patrons or presidents of a small number of charities. In 2006, she founded the The Princes' Charities Forum (dt. The Charity Forum Princes ) to promote cooperation between charities and organizations with which they are associated to promote.
In July 2007 the Princes organized a memorial concert for their mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, who died in 1997 . The event raised £ 1 million for eight non-profits and was watched by around 15 million people across the UK and broadcast to over 500 million households in 140 different countries.
In May 2008, the Princes raised £ 1 million for the Headley Court Military Hospital and for the Soldiers, Sailors, Aviators and Families Association ( SSAFA ) which supports wounded soldiers and their families.
However, the foundation is the culmination of the prince's charitable life. Together with the Duchess of Cambridge, they intend to use the foundation as the primary vehicle for their future charitable activities and through sustainable funding sources the foundation should be able to provide charitable grants and support projects of particular interest. The foundation has previously worked with two organizations, Fields in Trust and ARK.
The Duke of Cambridge said: “We are incredibly excited about our new foundation. We believe this will be a unique opportunity for us to use our privileged position to make a real difference in many areas of community service going forward. "
Focus
Although the Foundation is not limited to these three priorities, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry want to focus on:
- Help for young people, especially young people who are disadvantaged or who need special help at a crucial point in their life.
- Sustainable development, especially for a balance between development and conservation of resources and the natural environment.
- Help for veterans , especially those who are physically or mentally damaged.
In March 2011, William and Catherine to have The Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton Charitable Gift Fund (dt. The Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton Gifts Fund ) was established, which was supported by the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry to congratulate her marriage to make it possible to donate to charitable organizations instead of gifts. The gift fund supported 26 charities that Paar previously selected, including organizations for veterans, children, the elderly, the arts, sports, and conservation.
On January 8, 2012, the Prince William and Prince Harry Foundation announced a partnership with The Forces in Mind Trust to support former British soldiers and their families.
