The Satellite (English for The Satellite ) is a small and 1,100 m high mountain peak in the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . It penetrates the Antarctic Ice Sheet 5 km southwest of Pearce Peak and 13 km east of Baillieu Peak .
Participants of the British Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition (1929-1931) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson discovered and named him in February 1931. Aerial photographs of the US American Operation Highjump on February 26, 1947 were used to map it.
