biography

The Sentinals were founded in 1961 in the Californian city of San Luis Obispo, the same city from which the Impacts was another surf rock band that had a record deal with the Del-Fi Records label . Compared to other surf bands in the region, the Sentinals sound had a strong rhythm & blues influence . The Sentinals also covered some vocal pieces like Ooh Poo Pah Doo and Shout . The single Latin'ia from 1962, strongly influenced by Latin American guitar melodies, remained their greatest success until the band split up in 1965.
