The Sisters (English for The Sisters ) were a group of islands consisting of two cliff rocks off Cape Adare , the northern tip of the Adare Peninsula in the north of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . This group included Rose Rock and Gertrude Rock, who went under between 2003 and 2006 .
Participants in the Southern Cross Expedition (1898–1900) led by the Norwegian polar explorer Carsten Egeberg Borchgrevink mapped and named the group. The rocks were named individually, however, during the Terra Nova Expedition (1910-1913) under the direction of the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott .
