All my children (original title: The Torkelsons , from 1993 Almost Home ) is an American sitcom , which first aired from 1991 to 1993 on NBC . The series was created by Lynn Montgomery and is about a single mother and her children. The first broadcast of the German version was in 1997 on RTL .
All My Children is a Walt Disney Television production and comprises 33 episodes in two seasons.
Plot and characters
The determined but warm-hearted Millicent Torkelson has been abandoned by her husband and lives in constant financial hardship with her five children in a small town near Vinita , Oklahoma . Her oldest child is the teenager Dorothy Jane, who entrusts her problems to the man in the moon and thus becomes a narrator for the viewer. The athletic Steven Floyd is the second oldest. Ruth Ann is a brave girl and her younger brother Chuckie Lee is hardworking and talented at school, his trademark is the huge glasses. The youngest of the children is Mary Sue. Your subtenant is Wesley Hodges, who actively supports the Torkelson family.
In the second season, Millicent moves with Dorothy Jane, Chuckie Lee and Mary Sue to Seattle , where she works as a nanny in the family of the widowed Brian Morgan. The roles of Steven Floyd and Ruth Ann were deleted and no longer mentioned. Millicent now has to take care of the spoiled Molly and Gregory, who don't get along at all with their own children.
Radiance and consequences
The Torkelsons premiered on September 21, 1991 on NCB; the last of 20 episodes of the first season aired on June 13, 1992. The broadcast of the second season Almost Home began on February 6, 1993 and ended with the thirteenth episode on June 12, 1993. The German dubbed version was broadcast continuously under the title Alle Meine Kinder . First 31 episodes were shown on RTL from April to November 1997 , then in autumn 2000 all 33 episodes were shown on RTL II .
