The Undivine was a Finnish metal and hardcore punk band from Lohja that was founded in 2005 and disbanded in 2013.

history

The band was formed in 2005 by guitarists Juha Pakalen and Iiro Illman. The line-up was supplemented by the drummer Mikko Nevanlahti, the bassist Ville Telén and the singer Petri Muukkonen. In 2006 Pakalen and Illman took a trip to India , which paused the project. A year later, work began on new songs. Since Telen was too busy with training and other bands, he was replaced by Dorian Logue. A short time later, Muukkonen also left the cast. Without a singer, the group began work on their first release, with Nevanlahti taking over the vocals during the recordings. In 2008 the group found a new singer in Jere Kilpinen. In February, the single Metamorphosis was released , which was recorded, mixed and produced by the band. With his visa expiring , Logue returned to Australia , whereupon Telén resumed his post. This was followed by two concerts in the south of Finland. In January 2009 the EP Man-Made Apocalypse was released, which was mixed and mastered by Tomppa Saarenketo and produced by Jules Näveri . The band then held concerts. In April 2010 the next EP followed under the name Rise to Command . The sound carrier was mixed, mastered and produced by Ilpo Satuli in Windmill Alley Studio . The vocals were produced separately by Jukka Pihlajaniemi from Ghoul Patrol . More appearances followed. Then the singer Jukka Pihlajaniemi, the bassist Ville Riihelä and the drummer Rainer Tuomikanto joined as new members. The band also performed with Bonesaw. In spring 2011 they went on tour with Kalmisto and The Enchained, and Henri Harberg was added as a new singer. The debut album Face the Chaos , recorded at Kirkniemi Studios , followed in June. The material had been mixed and mastered by Perttu Kurttila at Seawolf Studios . In 2012 the second album followed under the name Delusional Noise . In order to promote the albums, the group also held numerous appearances. In February 2013, the band announced their breakup. The Undivine got together again for a gig in their hometown of Lohja in the middle of the year. The line-up consisted of the singer Henri Harberg, the guitarists Juha Pakalén and Iiro Illman, the bassist Ville Riihelä and the drummer Mikko Nevanlahti.

style

According to Tom from schwermetall.ch , the band mixes different genres such as death metal , melodic death metal , thrash metal and hardcore punk on Delusional Noise . Besides a few growls, the vocals consist of shouts typical of Thrash Metal and Hardcore Punk . The instruments are played in a technically demanding manner and sound quite melodic. Eckart Maronde from Metal.de also reviewed the album. In his opinion, an American and Brazilian influence was recognizable in that the group processed groove metal - riffs and thrash metal, while the deep vocals were taken from death metal. In addition, gangshouts are occasionally used. The title song could, however, be assigned to post-black metal .
