The Final Harvest was a Finnish thrash and death metal band from Lahti that was formed in 2008 and disbanded in 2013.

history

The band was formed in early 2008. After a first demo , which consists of two songs, the group signed a record deal with Stay Heavy Records . In the summer of the year the band took part in various Finnish festivals such as the Nummirock or the after party of the Tuska Open Air Metal Festival . In November, the debut album The End was released in Scandinavia . In addition, a music video for the song Bloodgood was released. At the beginning of 2013 Tuomas Saukkonen announced the end of The Final Harvest in order to be able to concentrate on his new band Wolfheart . In their career the band has performed with Destruction , Satyricon , In Flames , Torture Killer and Sotajumala, among others .

style

According to Florian Krapp from Metal Hammer , The End features modern Thrash Metal based on The Haunted and Dew-Scented . The songs have a “crisp sound” and “deep guitar volleys thunder out of the speakers , underpinned by pounding beats ”. However, the singing is quite monotonous. Heiko from Metal.de also reviewed the album and found that the band played Thrash Metal influenced by Death Metal, similar to that of Legion of the Damned . In addition, the group occasionally processes elements from hardcore punk , which is particularly noticeable in the singing. In doing so, avoid sliding into metal core areas. The songs are brutal and aggressive, but not very memorable.
