The Unity is a German power metal band.

Band history

The Unity started in 2016 as a side project of Gamma Ray members Henjo Richter (guitar) and Michael Ehré (drums), who both saw each other on the same musical wavelength. With singer Jogi Sweers, guitarist Stefan Ellerhorst and keyboardist Sascha Onnen (ex- Mob Rules ), the two members of the now- defunct metal band Love.Might.Kill joined the band. Love.Might.Kill was founded by Ehré in 2010 and had previously released two albums through Massacre Records .

For about a year and a half, the line-up worked on the self-titled debut album The Unity on the Steamhammer label . Tours with Edguy , Sinner and Axel Rudi Pell followed . The second album Rise was released in 2018 and entered the German charts at number 69.

In 2020 the third album Pride was released , which entered the German charts again.

Music genre

The Unity play melodic Power Metal with borrowings from hard rock . The songs oscillate between traditionally played fast hard rock and epic, bombastic songs.
