Michael Ehré

Michael Ehré (born August 1, 1971 in Brake ) is a German drummer in the band Gamma Ray .

biography

His musical career began at the age of 10 and led him through local bands before he first attracted national attention in the summer of 1991 and joined the hard rock band Pryer. After a few concerts and an album (Kick 'n' Rush), he formed Murder One with Pryer singer Frank Schütte in 1997, before moving to the Hamburg formation Metalium at the end of 2001. He has produced six albums and one DVD with them. From 2005 to 2012 he was also part of the band of the former Scorpions guitarist Uli Jon Roth, with whom he toured the borders of Europe for the first time and toured Japan, the USA and New Zealand. From 2009 to 2011 he played with Firewind, the Greek metal band of Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Gus G. In 2010 Michael founded his "own" band Love.Might.Kill, with which he has so far produced two albums. Since 2012 he has been a permanent member of the Hamburg metal institution Gamma Ray , which was successful with the album Empire Of The Undead . He was able to celebrate chart placements in his collaboration with Matt Gonzo Roehr .

Since his youth he has also played guitar / bass and composes music and lyrics. This is not limited to bands in which he is a permanent member - Michael Ehré has also written songs for Saeko / Weinhold.

Ehré is also a guitarist, songwriter and producer. On albums he can be heard on drums and guitar at the same time and was often involved in songwriting and production. He played in the bands Metalium , Uli Jon Roth , Firewind , Vinnie Moore , Kee Marcello and had appearances with Robbie Krieger ( The Doors ), Paul Gilbert ( Mr. Big ), Jeff Scott Soto ( Yngwie J. Malmsteen ), Don Dokken , Francis Buchholz (formerly Scorpions ), Tobias Sammet ( Edguy , Avantasia ), Marty Friedman (formerly Megadeth ), Alex Skolnick ( testament ), Warren DeMartini ( Ratt , formerly Whitesnake ), Graham Bonnet (formerly Rainbow ), Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake), Chris Impellitteri, Roy Z. ( Halford , Bruce Dickinson ), George Bellas, Steve Smyth (formerly Nevermore ), Tony Franklin , Joe Stump, Johnny Hiland.

Equipment

Michael is an endorser for DDrum, Paiste Cymbals; he played "5A Crusher" sticks until spring 2014 and then switched to "Rock Crusher".
