The Theater Ravensburg is a theater in the Upper Swabian Ravensburg presents its own ensemble, about 200 annually performances in their own venue and guest performances.

Sponsorship

The theater is supported by the Theater Ravensburg e. V. The theater is financed through its own income and municipal and state subsidies (40% of the costs). It is run by the Freundeskreis Theater Ravensburg e. V. supports.

Albert Bauer has been running the theater since 1987 .

history

In 1987, the Ravensburg Theater Association started playing at various venues in Ravensburg with the Philipp Lämmerzahl children's play-along theater under the direction of Albert Bauer. In September 1992, a permanent venue with 70 seats in a former art school on Zeppelinstrasse in Ravensburg's northern part of the city was opened. Since then the theater has had a permanent ensemble. In 1996 the theater moved to a new venue with 150 seats, also located on Zeppelinstrasse. The foyer / theater café was added as a further venue for smaller projects . In summer, open-air performances are offered in the courtyard of the theater.

program

In the 1990s, the program consisted mainly of plays, cabaret programs and revues, some of which were written and produced by the in-house author Ingrid Lausund . Since around 2010, the theater has increasingly been showing plays by foreign authors. Guest performances and solo programs by the ensemble members can also be seen frequently.

In addition to the repertoire program, Theater Ravensburg regularly organizes dance days and other themed days and is also the venue for local amateur theater groups. The educational theater offers in the theater environment include an annual school theater project, the Ravensburg Theater Education Center , a youth theater workshop and the Moskito circus and theater school .
