Uli Boettcher (born October 16, 1966 in Weingarten , Württemberg) is a German actor and cabaret artist.

Life

Böttcher attended the Spohn-Gymnasium Ravensburg up to the secondary school leaving certificate in 1982 and completed an apprenticeship as a painter from 1983 to 1986. He then worked as a comic artist, in street theater and in independent theater groups. In 1991 he played in Ingrid Lausund 's first play "Krähenoper" at the Roxy cultural center in Ulm , and then the absurd play "Two People" at the Ravensburg Theater . From 1992 he was part of the new permanent ensemble of the Ravensburg Theater (which had existed as an independent theater group since 1987) with a permanent venue in Ravensburg . At the Ravensburg Theater, Boettcher was seen in the ensemble's typical, self-written and self-produced theater pieces until 2009. He directed there several times and often played his solo programs there, with which he also goes on tour in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He played his most successful solo program "Romeo and Juliet" around Shakespeare's drama, which contained a large proportion of improvisation , from 1991 to 2011.

From 1993 to 1994 Boettcher played at the Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf . At the Weingarten Monastery Festival , Boettcher played roles in classics by Shakespeare, Lessing, Schiller and Hofmannsthal from 2000. In 2003 he was a co-founder of the improvisation theater Improshnikov , which performs regularly at the Linse cultural center in Weingarten.

In March 2011, Böttcher opened the Hoftheater cabaret in a converted barn in the Hof district of Baienfurt .
