Markus Zink (born July 22, 1970 ) is a German magician.

Live and act

At the age of 9 his interest in magic was aroused. After graduating from high school, he devoted himself to street magic for a while, inspired by the book “Sleight of Hand”. After completing a degree in pedagogy and 15 months of school service, he chose the art of magic as his profession, where he was inspired by artists such as Salvador Dalí , Jean Tinguely and Joseph Beuys .

With "17 bizarre miracles, 59 shrill effects, 79 tons of scrap, 46 kilos of confetti" he put together a show that was new to the art of magic, which he calls "scrap". He uses “machines” he has developed himself and finds his own style in magic. For the Hamburger Schauspielhaus he developed all the magic tricks for the theater-magic piece Konfetti , which was played in several other German theaters and in eleven other countries.

The Südkurier described Zink's performance of Schrott as "a mixture of David Copperfield and Klaus Kinski , magic with a difference".

Together with the Swedish artist Malin Nielson , he brought the POP program to the stage as the second full-length show . In it, works of Pop Art are reinterpreted with the help of magic.

He has written a number of articles for the German magical magazine Magische Welt . In 2004 a cover story was dedicated to him in the magazine.

In 2017 he was awarded the Hofzinser Ring .

Zink lives in Baienfurt in Upper Swabia.
