The Thelander Point is a prominent point of land on the east coast of McDonald Iceland in the southern Indian Ocean . It marks the northern limit of Williams Bay and the eastern edge of the island.
Namesake is the Australian physicist Hugh Thelander, participant in a 1971 campaign of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions , during which he landed by helicopter on McDonald Island.
