Theo Bodewig (* 1946 ) is a German legal scholar .

Life

From 1967 to 1971 he studied economics at the WWU Münster and at the LMU Munich . In 1971 he passed the diploma examination at the LMU Munich. From 1972 to 1976 he studied law at the LMU Munich (1976: first state examination in Munich ). From 1975 to 1980 he was a scholarship holder of the Max Planck Society . After his legal clerkship (1977–1980) in the Munich Higher Regional Court , he passed the second state examination in Bavaria in 1980. After receiving his doctorate at the LMU Munich (summa cum laude) in 1980, faculty award, from 1980 to 2002 he headed the US department of the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Patent, Copyright and Competition Law . After completing his habilitation in 1996 at the LMU Munich, he represented a professor at the Law Faculty of the LMU Munich in the 1997 summer semester. In the 1997/1998 winter semester he was a professor at the Faculty of Law at the Free University of Berlin . From 1998 to 2004 he taught as a professor at the Law Faculty of the LMU Munich. From 2004 to 2014 he held the chair for civil law, intellectual property law, in particular patent law, commercial law and comparative law at the Law Faculty of the Humboldt University in Berlin .
