Theo Peckham (born November 10, 1987 in Richmond Hill , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been with the Chicago Blackhawks in the National Hockey League since July 2013 .

Career

Theo Peckham began his career as a hockey player with the North York Rangers , for which he was active from 2003 to 2004 in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League . Then the defender went to the Owen Sound Attack in the Ontario Hockey League . There the left-handed shooter developed as a defensive all-rounder over the course of the following three years, where he also appeared offensively and scored 60 points in a total of 181 games of the regular season . In the 2006 NHL Entry Draft , Peckham was selected in the third round in a total of 75th position by the Edmonton Oilers . He spent the 2007/08 season with the Springfield Falcons , the Oilers' farm team at the time, in the American Hockey League and immediately established himself as an important part of the team. In the same season, Peckham also made his debut in the National Hockey League for the Edmonton Oilers. The following two years he was active for both the Falcons in the AHL and for the Oilers in the NHL, completing a total of 84 games in the AHL and 30 games in the NHL.

In July 2010, after his contract had expired, Peckham signed a new one-year contract with the Edmonton Oilers. For the 2013-14 season, the defender signed a one-year contract with the Chicago Blackhawks .
