Theodor Bergmann (born December 29, 1868 in Kevelaer ; † May 17, 1948 ibid) was a German politician of the Center Party and the CDU , entrepreneur and writer.

Life

After attending primary school in Kevelaer and the rectorate school in Berken , Bergmann took over his father's shoe factory in 1885. This still exists today as the Theodor Bergmann GmbH shoe factory in Kevelaer. For many years he was chairman of the association of shoe manufacturers on the Lower Rhine . From 1903 he was also the managing director of the Volksverein for Catholic Germany in the Geldern district . From 1923 to 1939 Bergmann headed the Kevelaer Museum Association. In 1946 he was one of the founders of the CDU in Kevelaer and was its first chairman. Bergmann also emerged as a writer, among others with the volume Maisüches on Heijblumme (1926), which wrote the Kevelaerer Heimatlied Wo hör ek t'hüß? contains.

Bergmann was a member of the council of Kevelaer for twelve years . In 1919/20 he was a member of the Weimar National Assembly .
