Theodor Gies
Friedrich Ludwig Theodor Gies (born November 3, 1845 in Hanau , † April 23, 1912 in Rostock ) was a German surgeon.
Life
Theodor Gies studied medicine at the Universities of Würzburg, Marburg, Tübingen and Berlin. In Würzburg he became a member of the Corps Nassovia in 1864 and of the Corps Hasso-Nassovia in Marburg in 1865 . In 1870 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD. From 1874 he worked as a general practitioner in Rostock. In 1880 he completed his habilitation at the University of Rostock . Until 1909 he belonged to the Rostock Medical Faculty as an associate professor for surgery.
