Theodor Hermann Sternberg

Theodor Hermann Sternberg ( January 5, 1878 in Berlin - April 18, 1950 in Tokyo ) was a German legal philosopher .

Life

Sternberg mainly taught at Japanese universities. He was a teacher at Tokyo University from 1913 to 1918, as well as at Meiji University . In addition he was about Hermann Kantorowicz as an important representative of the free legal doctrine .

Sternberg was also a long-time foreign correspondent for the Berliner Tageblatt until he lost his job when the National Socialists came to power because of his Jewish origins. Despite his origins, Sternberg was a member of the Evangelical Church Congregation of the Kreuzkirche in Tokyo.
