Theodor Hirn

Theodor Hirn (born April 15, 1879 in Neuhausen ; † April 10, 1959 there ) was a German politician . He was mayor of Neuhausen from 1919 to 1933 and again from 1945 to 1947 . He was made an honorary citizen of the community in 1952 and was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon .

Hirn was a carpenter and farmer. He was first elected mayor in 1919. After his re-election in 1927, he held the post for life, but was then removed from office by the National Socialists in September 1933. In his first term of office he fought against unemployment and inflation with emergency work , he also settled religious sisters in Neuhausen, who opened a kindergarten, a sewing school and an infirmary in the village. After the Second World War , Hirn was reinstated and helped rebuild the community that had been badly hit during the war. In the mayoral elections in 1947, he did not run for reasons of age.

In 1952 he was made an honorary citizen of the community for his life's work and was awarded the Cross of Merit on ribbon.
