Theodor Jobst von der Recke zu Kurl (* 1641 ; † 1716 ) was canon in Münster, Hildesheim and Paderborn.

Life

Origin and family

Theodor Jobst von der Reck zu Kurl came as the son of Johann Wilhelm von der Recke zu Kurl (Assessor at the Imperial Court of Justice of Speyer) and his wife Margaretha von Landsberg zu Erwitte of the Westphalian noble family von der Recke . In the course of time, many branches of the family developed from which well-known personalities have emerged. The Recke zu Kurl line was elevated to the status of imperial baron in 1653 . Theodor Jobst had four sisters, three of whom worked as canons in Fröndenberg . Clara Margaretha Eugenia (1662–1713) was married to Bernd Diederich von der Recke. Theodor's brother Johann Wilhelm († 1703) was married to Anna Magdalena Agnes von Wolff-Metternich.
