Theodor Meissner

Theodor Josef Meißner (born February 3, 1870 in Plan , Bohemia, † March 3, 1952 in Vienna ) was an Austrian private civil servant and politician ( SDAP ). Meißner was married and a member of the National Council .

Theodor Meißner was born as the son of the blacksmith Theodor Meißner from Plan, later Vienna. He worked as a bricklayer's assistant and in 1892 was a committee member of the Association of Construction Workers for the Kingdoms and Countries represented in the Imperial Council, which was constituted on December 18, 1892. Meißner was chairman of the Central Association of Construction Workers in Austria from 1914 and chairman of the Austrian construction union until May 29, 1929. Furthermore, Meißner was active as a member of the state party executive in the Burgenland Social Democratic Labor Party and between 1925 and 1932 he held the office of First President of the Burgenland Chamber of Labor . Meißner was a member of the Constituent National Assembly between June 5, 1919 and November 9, 1920, and was then a member of the National Council from November 20, 1923 to October 1, 1930, as a member of the Social Democratic Labor Party.
