Theodor Mithoff

Theodor Mithoff (born February 4, 1835 in Göttingen , † January 30, 1892 in Berlin ) was a German high school teacher, university lecturer for economics and parliamentarian.

Life

Theodor Mithoff studied at the Hanover Polytechnic from 1852 to 1854 , where he became a member of the Corps Saxonia Hanover . He later studied mathematics at the Georg-August University in Göttingen . In 1855 he became a member of the Corps Brunsviga Göttingen . After completing his studies and doctorate, he first became a high school teacher in Göttingen and Gotha . In 1873 he was appointed full professor of political economy at the University of Dorpat , where he taught until 1884. From 1887 he lived in Göttingen again. In his early days in Göttingen, before he left for Dorpat, he was a member of the Bear Club , an association of younger scholars.

From 1870 to 1873 Mithoff sat for the first time as a member of the constituency of Hanover 20 (Göttingen) in the Prussian House of Representatives . After his return from Dorpat , he moved into parliament again in 1885, to which he belonged until his death, in 1885 for the constituency of Hanover 20 (Göttingen) and from 1886 for the constituency of Hildesheim 6 (city and district of Göttingen, Münden). From 1886 to 1892 he was secretary of the House of Representatives. He belonged to the faction of the National Liberal Party .
