Theodor Nottebaum
Theodor Nottebaum (born July 21, 1909 in Westönnen ; † November 8, 1964 ) was mayor of Werl from September 15, 1946 to May 10, 1949, he was a member of the Center Party .
Life
Nottebaum was born the son of a railroad worker. He attended the Mariengymnasium in Werl until Obersekunda . He graduated from high school in Steyl in the Netherlands at the German school abroad. He completed an apprenticeship as a bookseller and worked for a Werler publishing house. During the war he was first placed in the UK , later he was assigned to the Soest site administration.
Nottebaum was the first democratically elected mayor in the post-war period . The election brought him a narrow majority in the city council, the Center Party got 11 seats, the SPD 5 seats and the CDU 5 seats.
He was the successor to Johann Heinrich Lennartz , who was appointed by the American occupation forces, and Lennartz was city director under Nottebaum.
Nottebaum resigned from office on May 10, 1949
From December 3, 1945 to 1952 member of the district council, from December 1945 to 1946 as parliamentary group chairman.
After finishing his political activities, Nottebaum was an independent businessman.
