Johann Heinrich Lennartz

Johann Heinrich Lennartz (born March 10, 1896 in Orsbeck , † April 29, 1975 in Aachen ) was mayor for the city and the Werl office from 1945 to 1946, he was a member of the Center Party . Before that he was City Inspector and since 1923 in the service of the City of Werl.

On April 8, 1945, American infantry and tank units occupied the city. On April 9, 1945, Lennartz was appointed mayor by the Americans. The British took command of the city on June 15, 1945, he continued to hold office in the now British zone.

On the occasion of the first democratic local elections in the post-war period, Lennartz's term of office ended on September 15, 1946. Theodor Nottebaum was his successor .

Lennartz was then city director in Werl from 1946 to 1955.
