Theodor Oskar Rubeli

Theodor Oskar Rubeli (born March 4, 1861 in Tschugg , † February 3, 1952 in Bern , reformed , resident in Tschugg) was a Swiss veterinarian .

Life

Theodor Oskar Rubeli was born on March 4, 1861 in Tschugg as the son of the estate inspector Johann Rubeli and Maria Catharina, born Tribolet. Theodor Oskar Rubeli began studying veterinary medicine and medicine in Bern and Berlin , before receiving the academic degree of Dr. med. acquired.

As a result, Rubeli first worked as a lecturer from 1887 , then from 1889 to 1931 as a full professor of anatomy at the veterinary school in Bern and the veterinary faculty. In addition, Rubeli was the rector of the University of Bern between 1914 and 1915 .

Theodor Oskar Rubeli made a name for himself above all as a researcher into the anatomy of the cow udder . In addition, he was successfully responsible for the academic training of veterinarians and played his part in establishing the world's first veterinary faculty at the University of Bern in 1900.

Theodor Oskar Rubeli married Maria Margaretha, the daughter of Heinrich Bühler, in 1886. He died on February 3, 1952, one month before the age of 91 in Bern.
