Theodor Thannhauser

Theodor Thannhäuser (born September 19, 1868 in Berlin ; † August 7, 1950 in Goslar ) was Mayor of Salzgitter .

Life

After graduating from high school, Thannhäuser began studying law at the Friedrich Wilhelm University in Berlin in the winter of 1890 . There he became a member of the Teutonia fraternity in 1891 . In 1894 he gave up his studies and embarked on a military career. In 1912 he was bid farewell as a guard captain in the Landwehr. Reactivated when the First World War broke out in 1914, he resigned from the Army in 1917 and was elected mayor of the salt bath in Salzgitter that same year. After leaving the mayor's office in 1923, he worked as a police captain in Salzgitter. In 1927 he was appointed acting mayor of Salzgitter, and he also held this office until 1929. In 1930 Thannhäuser retired, which he lived in Goslar from 1932 onwards.
