Theodoros Skutariotes ( Middle Greek Θεόδωρος Σκουταριώτης ; * approx. 1230) was a Byzantine cleric and official under the rule of Michael VIII. Palaiologos .

As a deacon he worked on the alms- giving system (επί των δεήσεων) and was appointed dikaiophylax (δικαιοφύλακας) in 1270 . Then he served as the Byzantine Emperor's ambassador to Pope Nicholas III. (1277) and became Metropolitan of Kyzikos (Μητροπολίτης Κυζίκου) until his deposition in 1282.

The German historian August Heisenberg (1869–1930) identified Skoutariotes with the author of an anonymous chronicle that is now in Venice . The chronicle begins with the creation of the world and ends in 1261. It is considered a continuation of the chronicle of Georgios Akropolites , who wrote the most valuable work of this kind in the 13th century.
