Therese Brunetti-Kníže nee Therese Frei or Therese Frey , ( December 24, 1782 in Vienna - May 15, 1864 in Prague ) was an Austrian theater actress and dancer .

Life

Brunetti-Knize, the daughter of civil servant Anton Frei / Frey, devoted herself to the stage at an early age. First she tried her hand at the company of the principal Domenico Guardasoni in Passau . When he took over the theater in Prague in 1798, she moved there with him. Due to its graceful appearance, it was also used there for ballet. She stayed there until her retirement on February 1, 1834. She said goodbye on April 26, 1834 at a benefit event.

In 1799 she married the ballet master of the Estates Theater Joachim Brunetti , with whom she had five children. Only two survived, their son Karl Brunetti (1801–1873) and their daughter Therese Brunetti (1803–1892). The two also became actors. When her daughter married Johann Wenzel Kalliwoda , she became his mother-in-law. After Brunetti's death, she married the composer František Max Kníže (1784–1840).

From 1813 to 1814 she was close friends with Carl Maria von Weber , when he was the opera director of the Prague Estates Theater.
