Therese Lohner

Therese Lohner (born May 30, 1967 in Basel ) is an Austrian actress.

Therese Lohner was born in Basel as the daughter of the actor couple Karin Baal and Helmuth Lohner . Since her father worked in Basel and Zurich for a long time , she grew up in Switzerland , where she attended boarding school. From an early age she felt the desire to become an actress. To get rid of her strong Swiss-German accent, Lohner went to Vienna , where she attended drama school. In 1983 she made her debut at the side of her mother in the television film Noah's Ark . Together with Karin Baal, she was also seen in the feature film Die Mitläufer , in the ZDF multi-parter Marleneken (1989/90), as well as in an episode of the television series Schloßhotel Orth (1997).

In the following years, the petite blonde devoted herself more to her theater career, played in Jedermann at the Salzburg Festival in 1988/89, played Bianca in The Unruly Taming and Helena in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream . Since 1992 she has been a member of the theater in der Josefstadt Vienna. She also appears occasionally on television.

In 2004, the vegetarian took part in an advertising campaign by the animal rights organization PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) against fur coats. The provocative advertisement gave the impression that Lohner was wearing a coat made of dog fur .

Therese Lohner lives in Vienna.
