Theresia Haidlmayr (born September 9, 1955 in Steyr ) is an Austrian politician ( Die Grünen ) and was a member of the National Council from 1994 to 2008 .

biography

Theresia Haidlmayr attended the special school for physically handicapped children in Wiener Neustadt between 1964 and 1971 . After graduating from secondary school, he attended the Federal Commercial School for the Disabled in Vienna between 1971 and 1974. Haidlmayr then worked as a payroll clerk in Upper Austria until 1980 and began training as an accountant during the subsequent unemployment , which she completed in 1985. Haidlmayr then worked as a coordinator in integrative work for the disabled.

In 1994 Theresia Haidlmayr was elected to the Austrian National Council. She was the handicapped and civil service spokeswoman for the Greens. It is due to their brittle bone disease ( osteogenesis imperfecta ) wheelchair user .

In July 2008, Haidlmayr announced that he would no longer run for the National Council. She was disappointed with the new political priorities of the Greens, in which people with disabilities and their concerns are no longer taken into account accordingly.

Since October 2008 Haidlmayr has been working free of charge with the Aids Life (Life Ball) association in the accounting department.
